Resources for Special Needs Audiences:
Every child who walks through the door of your program is special. Some children with special developmental, physical, behavioral or emotional challenges, may require special care to meet their needs. Youth development workers can implement strategies to make programs inclusive for all children and youth. Whether it is adapting programs for children with special needs, staff and volunteer training or physical changes to the environment, program can reflect a positive learning environment where all children, youth and adults can thrive and function in their world.
“Inclusion is an approach, not a program. An attitude, not an activity. Inclusion is belonging!” (Source: Pathways to Inclusion)
