Washington State 4-H Hall of Fame

The Washington State 4-H Hall of Fame was established to recognize individuals and organizations that have had a significant impact upon the 4-H Youth Development Program and/or its members and leaders at any time since 4-H’s beginning. Recipients will be honored at the State 4-H Forum. Nominations must be received by June 1st. 

Salute to Excellence – Lifetime Volunteer Award

In recognition of a lifetime of volunteerism. Eligibility for this award is extended to those who have served as a 4-H volunteer for 10 years or more at the county or state level. The State Advisory Board will select one nominee for the award. That volunteer will be recognized at the State 4-H Forum Volunteer Recognition banquet. The nomination will be forwarded to the National 4-H Council, which will select a national award recipient from among all the state nominees. Nominations must be received by August 1st. 

Salute to Excellence – Volunteer of the Year

In recognition of outstanding volunteerism. Eligibility for this award is extended to those who have served as a 4-H volunteer for less than 10 years at the county or state level. The State Advisory Board will select one nominee for the award. That volunteer will be recognized at the State 4-H Forum Volunteer Recognition banquet. The nominee will be asked to complete a personal essay about their 4-H experience. The nomination and essay will be forwarded to the National 4-H Council, which will select a national award recipient from among all the state nominees. Nominations must be received by August 1st. 

Friend of Washington State 4-H

This award recognizes outstanding persons, businesses, or organizations that have contributed to making Washington State 4-H what it is today. The recipient of the award will be honored at the Volunteer Recognition Banquet at the State 4-H Forum. Nominations must be received by August 1st. 

Washington State 4-H Volunteer’s Staff Award

This award recognizes outstanding staff members that have contributed to making Washington State 4-H what it is today. Eligibilty incldues any staff member at the county or state level who works cooperatively with volunteers and whose work has impacted 4-H at both the county and state levels. Nominations will be accepted from any County Leaders’ Council. The recipient of this award will be honored at the Volunteer Recognition Banquet at the State 4-H Forum. Nominations must be received by August 1st. 

Washington State 4-H Alumni Award

In recognition of outstanding 4-H alumni who have contributed to Washington State 4-H. Eligibility is for any adult who is at least 23 years of age by September 1 of the current year, who was enrolled in 4-H as a youth and has made a significant contribution to 4-H and/or the community. Nominations will be accepted from any person or group in the 4-H family. nominees will be honored at the Volunteer Recognition Banquet at the State 4-H Forum. Nominations must be received by August 1st. 

Heather Rider Leadership Award for Young Adults

This award recognizes the extraordinary leadership and service to others of a young person, aged 19-22 years as of September 1st of the current year. Heather Rider was a Cowlitz county 4-H member who was elected to serve as a State Ambassador and to the State 4-H Advisory Board. Heather was an exceptional young woman who touched many lies in her 4-H career before her life was cut short in September 2005. Nominations must be received by August 1st. 

 

Outstanding County Leader Award

Outstanding leaders from each county will be recognized with a certificate and pin at the State 4-H Volunteer Recognition Banquet. Nominations must be received by September 1st.
