Beach Watcher Training

Immerse yourself in Puget Sound. Become a Snohomish County WSU Beach Watcher!
Love nature? Care about our waters? Want to give back? Receive 80 hours of classroom and field training on Puget Sound wildlife, coastal processes, water quality, climate change and more. Then share your new knowledge as a citizen scientist volunteer!
Why is being a Beach Watcher awesome?
  • You will get to immerse yourself in Puget Sound stewardship knowledge!
  • Learn about where you live and get hands-on experience.
  • Find a community of like-minded people.
Options to volunteer are wide-ranging! Choose one of the following:
  • Share what you learn to help others conserve Puget Sound health.
  • Get involved in one or several Pugest Sound related research projects.
  • Bring your own ideas to craft your own volunteer experience!
2023 Snohomish County WSU Beach Watcher Training Program starts March 16th and runs every Thursday in March and May from 9am -4pm and every Tuesday and Thursday in April from 9am – noon. Need a shorter time committment, apply to become a Beach Naturalist! (See our webpage below for more information)
All applications are due March 15th. There is a course fee of $175. Sign-up by March 1st for a Early Bird fee of $150. Need based scholarships are available upon request.
