Master Gardener’s Plant Sale, May 7th!

Clallam Master Gardeners are thrilled to announce the

Spring Plant Sale in-person May 7th,

Open 9am-12:30, ½ price sale 1-3pm

2711 Woodcock Road, Sequim

Having creatively kept the plant sale alive over the past 2 years, there is great joy in returning to an in-person event. The Master Gardeners love this day and can’t wait to see the Woodcock Garden abuzz.

For at least 20 years, the Master Gardeners have been hosting this spring plant sale to raise funds for the operation of the Woodcock Garden, the 5th Street Community Garden in Port Angeles, the Youth Enrichment Programs in our local schools plus other educational programming. You can read more about that here

At the plant sale you will find a wide variety of annuals, perennials, and natives. Annuals include vegetable starts like tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, and flowers, etc.  The perennials are a mix of ornamentals and edibles, and the natives range from trees, to shrubs, to low growing ground covers. Additionally, there will be succulents and houseplants such as staghorn fern, spider plants and jades. The sale also includes gently used garden tools, pots, garden art and various garden related items.

Shopping at the Annual Plant Sale is a robust educational opportunity for you. Master Gardeners will be stationed throughout the Woodcock Garden to share expertise; for example, there will be area managers in stations such as the succulent station, the native plant station, the perennial station and so on. This is the perfect time to make strategic decisions about your yard or garden. Once you have made purchases, by cash, check or card, there are volunteers to carry or wheelbarrow your items to your vehicle and assist you in loading up.

The Master Gardeners would also like you to know that the Woodcock Garden is open to the public during daylight hours every day throughout the year. Please use the parking lot just West of the main entrance, adjacent to Buttercup Lane when you come. The garden stays beautiful as it changes throughout the year. It is a popular site for artists who enjoy painting outside, known as “en plein air” as well as a great place for a picnic or stroll with a friend.

Clallam County Master Gardeners are volunteers who enjoy plants, gardening and doing community outreach and education about sustainable gardening.  Volunteers have taken the WSU Master Gardener Training and have access to the experts and the latest research-based resources from Washington State University and other sources that provide the best information for the North Olympic Peninsula.

As you consider your garden this spring, please keep in mind the wealth of plants and education awaiting you at the Woodcock Garden Spring Plant Sale May 7th. For even more information click here.
