Margery Whites
Margery Whites will cover “Gardening for Newcomers”

The beauty of the Olympic Peninsula is breathtaking but our temperate climate can be exasperating to new-to-the-area gardeners. Before you throw down that trowel for good, join Margery Whites for the Digging Deeper Saturdays presentation “Gardening for Newcomers to the North Olympic Peninsula” July 20th, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road in Sequim. Come get the the tips and tools you need to get your garden growing!

During the presentation, Margery will discuss using the right plant for the right place in your yard, landscaping options and how to problem solve when issues pop up in your garden. Margery has been a Master Gardener since 2016. She moved here from Minnesota in 2015 and is enjoying the marine climate with its milder temperatures and minimal temperature swings.

Digging Deeper Saturdays are held 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon on the third Saturday of selected months. These free public presentations cover basic gardening topics and are scheduled for 90 minutes to allow for demonstrations or questions. This presentation will be held in-person, out of doors at the Master Gardener Woodcock Demonstration Garden.

In addition to the scheduled educational presentation, a team of Clallam County Master Gardeners will be available at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to answer your gardening questions. Digging Deeper attendees are encouraged to bring samples of garden problems or pests for diagnosis by Master Gardeners who can recommend control measures.

The Digging Deeper Saturday Series, sponsored by the Washington State University Clallam County Master Gardeners, is held on the select Saturdays of most months. Scheduled presentations are subject to change. Visit the WSU Extension Clallam County website calendar for the latest information on upcoming presentations. For questions, call 360-565-2678.
