Farm Glean
Our Farm Gleaning program distributes thousands of pounds of unharvested produce from local farms to food banks and other food access organizations in the region. Celebrate Food Waste Prevention Week with a recipe tasting from Chef Neil at the Port Angeles Food Bank. Free samples and educational materials about food waste prevention and food access will be distributed from noon onwards, and attendees can 'shop' at the Food Bank Market at the same time. The Peninsula Food Coalition is an informal group of local and statewide Food Access and Hunger relief organizations with the mission of recovering and distributing nutritious food to people in need across the North Olympic Peninsula. Come visit the Master Gardeners at the Swain's General Store with your questions, insects, and plant samples. We love sharing relevant, unbiased, research-based horticulture and environmental stewardship information with our community.
