Everett Station
Weyerhaeuser Room, 4th Floor
3201 Smith Avenue
Everett, WA 98201
(free parking at the train station)
Topic: Organic Vegetables, Critters and Vertical Growing

Description:
Growing vegetables and fruit is fun until the rabbits and deer invite themselves to feast. Join Lisa Taylor, garden educator and author of the “Maritime Northwest Garden Guide” and “Your Farm in the City; An Urban Dweller’s Guide to Growing Food and Raising Animals” for a lively discussion about growing food gardens with wildlife in mind. We’ll talk about annual and perennial edible plants that are treasured by people and our woodland neighbors. We’ll explore growing vegetables vertically, in containers and in raised beds to maximize your food production and pest protection. We will discuss gardening practices that benefit wildlife while keeping them out of the vegetables so that gardeners and wildlife can live more harmoniously.

Cost:
$85 for the entire series, if purchased in advance. Tickets for individual sessions will be available for $20, starting January 1st, based on availability. Limited space available. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit: http://www.gardenlectures.com
