Spot Light Lecture: Climate Change Science

WSU Soil Scientist Craig Cogger will talk to local farmers and the community on climate change and its impact on agriculture and food production on the Olympic Peninsula. His lecture will be Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 6:30 – 8:00pm at the Transit Center at 190 West Cedar Street, Sequim. The lecture is free.
Cogger will give an explanation of climate change, present research he has conducted on this topic, and what we may expect with future changes to our climate. He will also speak on how climate change effects food production on the Olympic Peninsula and actions local farmers can take to mitigate these impacts.

A WSU Soil Scientist for 15 years, Cogger has done valuable research in nutrient management in soils and the sustainable management of organic wastes. Cogger earned his Ph.D. from Cornell University in Soil Science and his Masters Degree in Organic Chemistry. He works frequently with Washington farmers, local industries, and community groups to educate about vegetable production and soil nutrition.
