WSU Extension Food Safety Program

This team, based in Pullman, provides education on food safety in processing (including HACCP and SQF) and on the farm. They also perform research to better understand practices that will reduce the risk of food-borne illness outbreaks.

Washington State Department of Agriculture “Bridging the GAPs” Program

Bridging the GAPs is a WSDA project to improve food safety and develop Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Good Handling Practices (GHP) education and outreach services. The project team will identify and share best practices relating to on-farm food safety for small, mid-sized and diversified fruit and vegetable farms.
